Following the success to date of our new Resident Committee Group (RCG), we are now opening the doors to new members.
Our Resident Committee Group is a group of residents who scrutinise and review Mount Green operations and decisions, is consulted about changes to policy and procedures, and provides a crucial link between Mount Green residents and the Board.
We’re looking for Mount Green residents from across our homes and communities to join the RCG and help shape our services, ensuring that we’re doing everything we can to provide excellent services, keep you safe in your homes and ensure value for money to all those in our homes and communities.
The RCG plays a vital role in the future of Mount Green’s performance and in appreciation for the time given to the group, new members will receive £1,076.25 per year, along with the opportunity to gain new skills and experience working with others, and to meet other residents who you will work with to bring about positive change.
Being a part of the RCG is a fantastic opportunity not only to make a real difference for yourself and other residents but also to gain experience and skills to add to your CV or LinkedIn profile. We ask you to attend just four meetings per year, with full training provided for this flexible role and all the support you may need.
Joining the Resident Committee Group has been a positive experience for those involved so far, and our existing members would encourage others to join them at this exciting point in our near 60 years’ history, with ambitious plans to shape everything we do with, and for, our residents.
Alan Dowling, current chair of the committee, said:
“The resident committee group doesn’t just feel like a box-ticking exercise – it feels like our scrutiny and suggestions are welcomed and taken on board.
“We’ll be focussing on communications and repairs for the foreseeable future: the two areas we know mean the most to residents and where we know there are improvements to make. I have high hopes and expectations for what we can deliver for Mount Green and its residents.”
If you would like to get involved with the Resident Committee Group, just complete this simple form and we’ll be in touch: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/9P8RTPH
The closing date for submitting your details is 11:59pm on Sunday 10th September.
We are particularly keen to hear from residents living in our general needs homes, to ensure this area is represented on the RCG, but welcome registrations of interest from all residents.
