Resident feedback sparks home improvements

At Mount Green, we believe in turning resident feedback into action. A recent set of improvement works at one of our communities highlights how listening closely and investing wisely can lead to warmer, safer, and more comfortable homes.

What prompted the work?

Residents raised concerns about draughty windows, some early indications of damp, and mould. After a thorough review, it became clear the existing windows were no longer fit for purpose. Rather than opting for short-term fixes, we took the opportunity to invest in a lasting solution.

Listening first

Before any work began, we invited residents to a meeting to share their experiences and ask questions. Common concerns included:
  • How will dust and mess be managed?
  • Will my home be left clean and tidy?
  • Will I need to take down my blinds and curtains?
Our frontline housing team went above and beyond to gain residents’ support in advance of and throughout the project. This included organising and chairing the residents’ meetings, communicating extensively with individual residents on their concerns, and providing a crucial liaison between the Property team and the resident base.
We committed to:
  • Using full dust protection
  • Keeping disruption to a minimum
  • Completing all works to a high standard, including internal finishes

High standards in delivery

Work took place over several weeks, replacing windows in 16 homes and communal areas. Residents praised the professionalism, punctuality, and respect shown by our contractors throughout the project. The result? A noticeable improvement in warmth, comfort, and satisfaction.

Resident voice:

“The team were respectful and professional throughout. The new windows have made such a difference, the flat feels warmer, and it’s reassuring to know the job was done properly.” – Resident

A model for future work

This project shows how we can:
  • Act swiftly on resident concerns
  • Use our collaborative ‘one team’ Mount Green ethos to work across departments to get the best outcomes for residents.
  • Invest in long-term improvements
  • Maintain clear, two-way communication
  • Deliver high-quality results in partnership with our trusted contractors
By turning feedback into action, we’re strengthening trust and delivering real results in our communities.
