Meet Jacqui, our new Neighbourhood Rep
Jacqui has been a Mount Green resident for just over three years, moving from Wandsworth to Guildford to be closer to her family. Already well embedded in her neighbourhood, she took on the role of Neighbourhood Rep for Hazlemere Close and Waterfields because she wanted to give something back to the community and act as a link between residents and Mount Green.
With more than 25 years’ experience as a housing support worker, Jacqui brings valuable insight to her new role. Having experienced the housing sector both as a resident and as a staff member supporting tenants, Jacqui understands the challenges that both housing organisations and residents face. Jacqui’s career has given her the tools to manage expectations, explain processes and, importantly, close the gap between residents and Mount Green team members.
Jacqui is already active in her community, regularly checking in with neighbours and taking an interest in how shared spaces are cared for. Whether it’s raising issues like the upkeep of communal spaces or supporting Mount Green with feedback on repairs, Jacqui is keen to ensure residents feel heard while also helping them understand the processes behind resolving issues.
Outside of her role, Jacqui enjoys spending time with her husband, gardening on their allotment and being part of their local church. Even her cat, Marmalade, has become a well-known and much-loved character in the area.
Jacqui’s positivity, experience and enthusiasm make her an excellent fit for the Neighbourhood Rep programme and we’re delighted to welcome her to the role.
