At Mount Green, we believe that small improvements can make a big difference to homes and neighbourhoods. That’s why we have a Community Improvement Fund to support local projects and initiatives that benefit the whole community.
One of the many perks of our partnership with Stonewater is that our budget for community improvements has almost doubled!
Last year, with just a little bit of time and money, we were able to implement some fantastic upgrades, thanks to residents speaking up and the team listening in.
At Woodstock Court and Willow Court, concerns about children’s wellbeing in garden areas led to enhancements such as extended railings, secure bike and toy sheds, and re-landscaped gardens that have created safer, more inviting play spaces. Storage was improved at Willow Close and Nightingale House, and an additional bin store was built at Graylands to address overflowing rubbish. We were asked for a greenhouse at Graham House, so we installed one. A resident at Highwood told us that it was very dark outside in the winter evenings, so we improved the outdoor lighting. We tackled parking challenges at Bartlett House with a new car port to protect vehicles from bird droppings, and at Woodstock, we added new bays, including a motorbike spot with a padlock and a designated disabled bay.
“Our resident couldn’t open the window because of the smell,” says Neighbourhood Officer Vimla Mathers. “With the new bin area, things are much better, and it has made a difference to the fly-tipping problem too.”
It’s brilliant to see the impact these small changes have made. At Mount Green, we believe that residents are always the experts of their own communities, so we endeavour to make these changes wherever we can.
