Condensation / Mould

Concerned about damp and mould?

Condensation, damp and mould are conditions that affect millions of residents, tenants and homeowners and can occur in homes both new and old.

As temperatures dip in colder months, the impact of unheated rooms and cold surfaces can attract condensation, which if left unmanaged will give rise to mould contamination. As the winter months approach, it’s important that you check your heating (including any radiators) and report any issues to us, so our repairs team can investigate further. To do this, we recommend running your heating for 20-30 minutes and checking the radiators heat up as expected.

Leaving mould can create conditions hazardous to health – as the mould spores spread through the air. We therefore at Mount Green want to ensure residents have the information needed to help prevent these issues and how to tackle it as soon as it appears.

What can I do?

If you currently have mould in your home, this needs to be eliminated as quickly as possible before it spreads. We’ve created a factsheet outlining the steps residents should take to prevent and tackle any damp and mould issues.
