Gifts donated to families in time for Christmas
Mount Green will be delivering gifts to families in time for Christmas, with the help of Stripey Stork.
Following on from our successful partnership with Surrey-based baby bank Stripey Stork last Christmas, we have once again been able to provide residents in need with gifts.
Christmas can be incredibly hard for some residents, more so than ever in the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, but thanks to the Santa Stork project, residents will be supported with a gift for their children this year.
31 families that are experiencing financial hardship will receive gifts that they can give to their children at Christmas, ensuring that they have a lovely gift from their parents or Santa on the big day.
This year, Stripey Stork teamed up with Truly Giving, providing gifts tailored to a child’s interests, such as football or a particular TV programme. Our team, when referring families for gifts, were able to specify the age, gender and interests of children up to the age of 18, who were then matched with a donor to purchase a gift meeting their wishes.
Christine Wytiahlowsky, Housing Services Manager at Mount Green, said: “Working closely with residents all year round to provide as much support as we can where it’s needed, we know that Christmas and the expectations it places on families, especially those with children, can be very difficult.
“That’s why we’re so pleased to have been able to team up with Stripey Stork once again, providing these wonderful gifts for children to wake up to on Christmas Day, and relieving some of that pressure for residents.”
