Chair Update

New chair for mount green

After nearly four years as chair of Mount Green’s Board, David Hunter has announced that he will be stepping down from his role later this year.

The decision follows the successful completion of the organisation’s partnership with Stonewater earlier this month, which David led on behalf of Mount Green.

David joined the organisation in the middle of the covid pandemic, leading Mount Green through a number of changes and laying strong foundations for the housing provider’s residents, communities and colleagues to thrive.

On his decision to step down, David shared: “It has been a privilege to Chair Mount Green and work with genuinely wonderful colleagues, who are passionate about delivering resident-focused services.

“From setting up our Resident Committee Group (RCG), strengthening our governance by making changes at Board level, and more recently completing the partnership with Stonewater, I’m proud of what we’ve been able to achieve together over the last few years.

“Everything has centred around enhancing our offering and services for residents and I believe that joining the Stonewater Group will only cement our commitment in this area. With that said, as a father with a young family, I believe now is the right time for me to pass the reigns over to someone who is able to commit the time needed to lead the organisation through this next chapter.”

Bill Flood, Managing Director at Mount Green, said: “On behalf of Mount Green I would like to thank David for all that he has done as Chair and for his pivotal role in championing resident involvement across all that we do.”

David will remain on Mount Green’s Board until September 2024, enabling the organisation to ensure a smooth transition as it appoints a new Chair.
