It’s been another successful summer of resident events at Mount Green. So many of you came out to see us and each other and to connect with our local partners, to learn about ways we can support you, and celebrate with your communities.
Events were held at Mathias Close, Hazlemere Close, Waterfields, Pathfields, and Reigate across July and August with exciting activities and events for everyone to take part in, including cake decorating, raffles, facepainting, garden games and even an inflatable assault course.
It was important to us that, as well as having fun, these events gave you the opportunity to feedback to us about changes you’d like to see in your neighbourhood while being able to share your favourite things about your communities. That’s why we introduced our comment wall – a place for residents to write their thoughts and ideas for us to understand where we can further support them.
The comment wall was a huge success, with lots of you adding your thoughts. We enjoyed hearing what people love about their neighbourhoods – including the community spirit, the quiet and friendly atmosphere and the size of your homes. The team will be reviewing any ideas and seeing how we can help implement these to make things even better.
The events also provided the opportunity for residents to meet some of the team from our repair’s contractor, Gilmartins, as well as the local fire service and some of our other local partners. We had representatives from Mole Valley District Council, local police officers, Age UK, St James’ Church, Guilford Council Housing Team and many more – thanks to everyone who came along, and a huge thank you to the team at Stripey Stork, who kindly donated lots of activity packs to be used at our events.
Karen Ordoyno, Senior Home Improvement Agency Officer at Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, attended the Mathias Close event and said: “We very much enjoyed the event. Getting the message out about how we can support people is so important – and not just to residents and staff, but to other groups who may be attending, as we are all aligned with a view to improving the lives of residents. In this day and age, services appear to become less personable, so meeting people face to face in the community is very important, particularly for the older generation, the vulnerable and for disabled people”.
We’re pleased that there were so many of you in attendance this summer at every event and appreciate all the people that help make these events so successful and enjoyable.
